Schedule for T.T.C of the year 2009-10

Teacher Training programme: Teacher Training programme is a 8 weeks course designed to help the teacher trainee to understand the intelligence behind the approach of Prana Vashya Yogasana series and the focus is to help the practitioner to explore his best potential. Emphasis is given to the understanding the importance of breath to accomplish a position with greater ease and to develop skills to handle varied levels of practitioners in different ways.

There are four different approaches to the asana practice during the course which comprises of a mass practice with all other practitioners (four weeks)

An intensive practice in the early morning before the regular classes with the individual attention from the teacher (The maximum number of practitioners in this course is four). Self practice as recommended by the Teacher. (Four Weeks)

Pranayama practice is considered to be a strong foundation for the Teacher trainee. Kriya sessions include Trataka, Jala neti, sutra neti and ksheera neti will be handled during the course.

Seven guest lectures by Dr. Pradeep Shankar will be organized for the teacher trainee during the course.The course include:1,2,3,4,5,6,7 each seesion will be of 90 minutes duration. Please Note: The practitioner can opt for our Back Bending and overall flexibility development course only after four weeks from the commencement of the Teacher training course.

  • The Shala will remain closed on all moon days and national holidays.

  • Primary series practice
  • Teaching practice (Learning and practice)
  • Pranayama practice
  • Theory (Yoga, Anatomy and physiology of Yoga) and Explanation of the clinical importance of Yoga asana practice ( which includes discussion on common injuries with the Shala's Physiotherapist )
  • Nethi Kriya and Trataka learning and practice

  • Practice of Pranayama
  • Sequential Asana practice related to the understanding of the importance of breath which includes the syllabus of P.V primary series
  • Kriya and Theory classes
